Job Role
We are looking to recruit an IT Support Apprentice who is a hardworking, organised individual with flexibility and a willingness to learn.
As an apprentice, the first year of the two year programme will be spent alongside the Service Desk Analysts offering 1st and 2nd line support to a range of clients. The second and final year will be focused on third line and developing your technical skills.
Whilst you do not have to be a technical expert, we are looking for people who have a passion for technology and a desire to get stuck in, build knowledge quickly, become part of cross-discipline teams and develop skills quickly through both on the job and formal training to progress your career via a number of different technology routes and projects.
As a Microsoft Infrastructure Technician Apprentice your main roles and responsibilities will include:
Incident Management:
Receive and log all calls and emails from customers and record all pertinent information
Provide initial assessment of categorisation and prioritisation for all incidents
Ensure incidents are assigned and escalated where necessary to the relevant teams.
Provide regular communication to customers concerning the status of incidents
Maintain ownership of incidents ensuring status updates and resolution according to KPI's
Proactively manage all individual and team assigned incidents and new requests
Maintaining telephones and troubleshooting basic telephony issues
Working with supplier support contacts to resolve complex technical issues
Troubleshooting operating System, Hardware & Application issues on any desktop device
Resolving technical issues, updating Status/Workaround/Resolution within our Service Desk system
Request Fulfilment:
Creating and maintaining user accounts throughout various IT systems including AD user accounts
Managing shared drives, user access and permissions
Communicating with customers about the status of incidents and requests and updating the ITSM Support Tool in a timely manner with accurate information
Positive Peer and Customer feedback:
Promoting a can do attitude, by looking for solutions and not problems
Meeting and exceeding all the objectives set in your training plan
Offering clear and concise messaging to the customer, setting expectations and resolving issues in a timely manner
Aiming to receive 100% positive feedback from all customers and clients

To be considered for this role, you must have:
GCSE's Grade 5 and above in Maths, IT, English
BTEC in Information Technology or technology related subjects
Work experience in an information technology setting would be an advantage
Genuine passion for working within information technology and in an IT environment
Strong inter-personal and communication skills
Customer service skills
Strong problem-solving skills
Strong analytical skills
The company require a bright, enthusiastic and hard-working individual with a genuine desire to learn and to build a career within the IT industry. You will have a friendly personality, be able to work as part of a team and provide excellent customer service.
To be considered for this role, you ideally would hold a C/5 grade in GCSE Maths & English, and in three or four other subjects. You should have a GCSE/BTEC/A Level in ICT or at least hands-on experience with the workings of computers and IT

You will be enrolled on to the award-winning Microsoft Partner Apprenticeship Programme. You will work towards gaining skills across a variety of technical areas including MTA Cloud Fundamentals and MTA Network Fundamentals, these are globally recognised certifications, you will also gain a City and Guilds Diploma in Coding and logic and mobile and operating systems. This will also extend to business processes and project management.
