Introduction Into Sutton Trust

All young people can access universities and the jobs they want.

The Sutton Trust believe that all young people should have the chance to explore their future options regardless of their background, gender, ethnicity or where they live. This is why they run their programmes. The Sutton Trust want young people to live on a university campus, explore university subjects, take part in work experience and find out what their future could hold.

Sutton Trust programmes are designed to support students to make informed choices about their next steps.

Sutton Trust programmes

Sutton Trust programmes are designed to support students to make informed choices about their next steps. They work in partnership with top universities who run engaging programmes that give practical advice and leave young people across the UK feeling inspired.

As disadvantage starts before young people are born and continues through to the workplace, the Trust's interest covers parenting and early years projects, primary and secondary schooling, access to university and the professions, and apprenticeships.

At later ages we have a particular focus on academically talented young people with the potential to study at leading universities. The Trust's programmes, working in partnership with top universities and industry professionals, are designed to support our students to make informed decisions about their next steps and leave our young people feeling inspired.

Some programmes they offer:

  • UK Summer Scholars: Helping young people access selective universities
  • Pathways to the professions and access to the workplace: Giving young people the best chance to access professions
  • US Programme: Supporting young people to access top US colleges
  • Sutton Scholars: Supporting 11-16-year olds make choices about Higher Education

The Sutton Trust believe that all young people should have the chance to explore their future options regardless of their background, gender, ethnicity or where they live.
