Description of Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Donation Centre Support (Age 18 and Over)

  • To sort and unpack deliveries and donations in accordance with St Luke’s guidelines.

  • To ticket garments and label items, and capture relevant gift aid information.

  • To move donations into allocated areas for storage and distribution.

  • To pack goods for distribution to our shops across Sheffield.

  • To look out for collectable or vintage items for our etrading and Vintage teams.

  • To keep the Donation Centre clean and tidy and ensure that goods are displayed in an organised and safe manner.

  • To ensure compliance with Fire and Health & Safety Regulations.

  • The role will require manual work, which includes moving stock in line with manual handling guidelines.

  • Retail Support

  • To create a positive and welcoming environment for visitors to the shop through excellent customer service, and a positive welcoming atmosphere.

  • To achieve maximum sales at all times by supporting the management team with the shops targets

  • To label up donations correctly and neatly, acknowledging receipt and arranging collection where necessary.

  • To sort, steam, hang, price and display stock in accordance with St Luke’s guidelines.

  • To remove out of date stock (culling) and replenish with fresh saleable stock.

  • To monitor and welcome visitors to the shop whilst being alert of any security breaches. To inform shop management where there has been, or there is suspicion of, a breach of any security procedures.

  • To perform till duties including wrapping goods, handling cash and credit card payments and ensuring receipts are given (age 16 and over).

  • To create visual displays within St Luke’s guidelines and with guidance from the Shop Manager/ Deputy Shop Manager.

  • To process Gift Aid donations in the appropriate manner, both on the shop floor and sorting areas.

  • Ensure shop premises are clean and tidy at all times and that goods are displayed in an attractive, presentable and safe manner.

  • To ensure that stock / sorting areas are efficiently and safely organised and working areas are kept clean and tidy.

  • To achieve maximum sales at all times by supporting the management team with the etrading set targets.

  • To provide assistance to the e-trading team which allows customer service expectations to be met, and the St Luke’s online selling platforms to receive 100% positive feedback.

  • To assist with picking and packing customer orders ready for postal collections, and meet customer expectations.

  • To research items to process onto different e-commerce selling sites to achieve income for St Luke’s.

  • To assist in taking attractive pictures of goods suitable for e-trading platforms, through display and merchandising to maximise the interest and income for full profitability.

  • To ensure that stock / sorting areas are efficiently and safely organised and working areas are kept clean and tidy.

  • General

  • All St Luke’s employees are required to:

    • Support the retail chain with the movement of stock between shops to help maximise income generation.

    • Liaise directly with shop teams to ensure that the required furniture items are being received to meet customer demands and maximise revenue.

    • Offer a high quality customer service experience for our retail team.

    • Abide by the Health & Safety at Work Act.

    • Attend mandatory training annually and complete all e-learning modules.

    • Respect confidentiality applying to all St Luke’s areas.
