Description of Opportunity

What will you be doing?

The successful applicant will learn about the tasks involved in the management of the installation of various precast products across a number of sites. This will include the works involved pre, during and post installation.

The apprentice will be expected to:

  • Create method statements
  • Read construction issue drawings and create call offs for following weeks work
  • Raise purchase orders
  • Book transport
  • Complete the required academic and practical training requirements of the apprenticeship, as well as undertaking the necessary out of college qualifications required to undertake the role of contracts manager
  • Gain knowledge and understanding of other aspects of the Company’s operations by participating in Company assigned training / projects as and when required
  • Gain hands on operational experience on all aspects of project management by learning to carry out various duties from lift plans to cost management
  • Ensure work is carried out to the highest standard and in the interest of the company
  • Carry out other reasonable requests made by the line manager to support departmental or company objectives
  • Ensure compliance with the Company’s policies including Health & Safety are complied with
  • Observe and comply with all good working practices

In addition to the apprenticeship training you will receive hands on experience including mentoring and coaching from experienced members of the team. On this apprenticeship programme you will learn a range of skills.

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs, Grades 9-4 inclusive of Maths, English and Science
  • Valid driving licence - The individual needs to have their own car because as they progress within the role there will be a need to get to various site within the UK.

This role may involve some travelling, specifically in order to attend the training facility to undertake your academic training, as such a driving licence would be beneficial. A career in construction may involve being based on projects in various locations. Please note that the wage does vary depending on age, see further details below: Candidates aged 16-17 £4.62 per hour (£173.25 per week) Candidates aged 18-20 £6.56 per hour (£246 per week) Candidates aged 21- 22 £8.36 per hour (£313.50 per week) Candidates aged 23+ £8.91 per hour (£334.12 per week). These hourly rates are significantly higher the National Apprenticeship Rate and would continue to increase as you are progressing within this exciting company.
