Description
Higher Farm is an award winning equestrian centre, with newly built high spec facilities, found in the heart of the Cheshire countryside close to junction 18 of the M6; making accessibility quick and easy. Higher Farm offer riding lessons for all abilities and have enviable livery facilities with 32 horses on site. They also have a brand new rehab centre offering rehabilitation livery and state-of-the-art water treadmill and combi-floor. Alongside this, Higher Farm also specialise in human ecotherapy; which is a form of therapeutic treatment involving the outdoors and in this unique case combining this with the comforting power of the horse. Ecotherapy has been scientifically proven to help reduce stress levels, resulting in a lowering blood pressure; alongside many other benefits. This style of therapy is highly recommended by the national charity, Mind.
This position would suit anyone who is motivated and passionate about working in the equine industry. You may not know where you would like to specialise however, this unique yard offers so much that you will be sure to find an area you would like to pursue be that in the livery yard setting, riding school and coaching, competition, rehab or indeed any of the other unique opportunities that Higher Farm offer.
Usual yard duties included such as mucking out, preparing horses for lessons, feeding and watering, rugging up and leading horses. There may also be riding for the right person and also opportunities to assist at shows.

Some horse care/riding experience is required and pride in turning out horses and keeping the yard to a very high standard
GCSE Level 4/ Grade C in Maths and English or equivalent.
