Description
Collingwood School is an independent school which also has a nursery on site. They can take up to 35 children from the ages of 2 years – 5 years.
The children will mostly be taught through games and play.
They are looking for a patient, positive apprentice to complete a Level 2 Early years Apprenticeship.
Duties include;
- Under supervision, provide all aspects of care for children changing and feeding
- To assist with meeting the personal and emotional needs of the individual children
- Support the children to understand healthy life choices through engaging play activities
- To provide adult interaction with children in the nursery
- Support children’s numeracy, literacy and language through a range of play activities and opportunities
- To be aware of nurseries confidentiality policy as well as the safeguarding policy amongst others
- Take an active part in the completion of their apprenticeship, meeting deadlines set by their trainer assessor and working with the dedicated mentor to develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours
You will receive;
- 22 days holidays of which 5 days are kept for Christmas. plus 8 days Bank holidays

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. Collingwood School will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
You will be working towards the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard, which includes:
- Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
- Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Qualification
- Functional skills in Maths and English if required
This will be delivered through Collingwood School's dedicated training provider, Realise.
