From the beginning our goal was to make it easier for young people to get into work, faster. Enabling them to explore their choices. And putting them in touch with opportunities that match their interests and ambitions. We’ve got lots of amazing employers that advertise with us. And a range of great training providers and colleges behind us. With GetMyFirstJob you can discover more about the different paths that can lead to success and be amongst the first to see new opportunities – no matter where you are in the country, or where you want to end up in your job.
Plus, you can join GetMyFirstJob on Facebook to find out how other candidates are doing, share your thoughts, get advice and ask questions.
Whether you’re thinking about doing a traineeship to gain more experience. Getting straight into an Apprenticeship. Or taking the next step in your training on a higher level apprenticeship, GetMyFirstJob will open the door to great opportunities that will let you earn, learn and gain vital work-based skills and experience.
How it works:
There are 1000s of opportunities advertised for Traineeships, Apprenticeships or training, offered by colleges and training providers across the country. They will be pro-actively searching for the right candidates to meet their employer’s needs on a daily basis. All you have to do is tell us what your interested in and we’ll do the rest. Once you’ve signed up you can search and apply with the click of a button. Plus providers will also begin matching you to opportunities using the following criteria:
- Your job interests
- Your exam results (actual or predicted)
- Your location – how far would you have to travel to your job, whether on foot, or by your own or public transport?
If you’re shortlisted as a potential candidate, the training provider will get in touch to arrange a short telephone interview, at a time that suits you. It’s here when you’ll be given more details about the role and the company to help you prepare for a possible face-to-face interview (and don’t worry – we’ve got lots of handy hints and tips on preparing for interviews).
After your face-to-face interview, you’ll be contacted by the person managing the vacancy, who will let you know how you did, and if you’re successful, what happens next.
And don’t forget, while you’re waiting to be contacted, you can login any time to keep your profile up to date, upload your CV or search and apply for vacancies.
