Our mission is to protect Britain from ever-evolving threats

About GCHQ

As Britain faces increasingly sophisticated threats, at GCHQ, we constantly develop unique and creative solutions to stay one step ahead of adversaries. Our intelligence helps prevents terrorism, serious crime and protects Britain against cyber attacks.

To achieve our mission, we are looking for graduates from different backgrounds with diverse skills and perspectives. Graduates who dare to think differently. No matter what your degree subject is, you could be eligible to apply to a number of areas, including intelligence analysts, technology and engineering, maths and cryptography, languages analysts, project management, finance, leadership and others.

Look out for our Apprenticeships and Languages and Maths Summer placements opportunities in the Autumn.

We even offer a Bursary.

At GCHQ, you won’t just be discovering innovative ways of using advanced technologies. You’ll be taking responsibilities, developing new skills and ultimately, protecting your country.

We welcome applications from everyone – regardless of age, experience, cultural background or sexual orientation. The nature of our work means that we have strict nationality, residency and security requirements, so you need to be a British citizen and have lived in the UK for the majority of the last ten years. Our rigorous, but fair, vetting process will look into your character, family history and personal circumstances. It’s a thorough process that can take up to nine months and you must be over 18 to complete it. We’re also a disability confident employer, dedicated to providing guaranteed interviews to all disabled candidates who meet our minimum
criteria.
