The Technical Apprenticeship offers people leaving secondary school or college the chance to start an exciting, rewarding and unique career. Throughout, you’ll enjoy hands-on work that will help build and maintain some of the world’s most advance software technology – all while working towards a BSc Honours degree. It combines university accredited classroom and lab education, in state-of-the-art facilities. You’ll also get technology training, mentoring and job shadowing, research and development, and work-based placements and projects. In fact, you’ll take on real business challenges in software engineering, information assurance or cyber operations.
Over the three years, you’ll become a vital part of a team that ensures the UK Government can confidently operate in cyber-space and stay ahead of the evolving digital world. You’ll be exposed to some of the most cutting-edge technologies, along with practical insights into the innovative ways they help keep the country safe. You’ll need to have (or be expecting to have) three A-Levels. Two of these will be grade B or above, and one at grade C or above. Two will need to be in either Science, Technology, Engineering or maths (STEM) subjects, or an equivalent STEM subject qualification. In return, you won’t only make the most of this unique apprenticeship – you’ll also grow your skills. And, at the end of the programme, you could even be considered for full-time employment.
“While my friends are studying for a degree, I’m still learning and getting a head start on my career.”
