Detailed Job Description

  • Working under the direction of the room leader and managers
  • Supporting the activities and playing of the children
  • Cleaning and supporting the setting health and safety/equality
  • Monitoring development of the children
  • Reporting and reviewing safeguarding issues
  • Developing the development of the children within the framework of the EYFS
  • Feeding back to the parents
  • Supporting the personal care of the children

Qualifications required

  • No formal qualifications are required for this role, although 3 – 9 grade GCSE’s in maths and English (or equivalents) would be a distinct advantage

  • To contribute to a high standard of care for children placed within the nursery
  • Give support to the other individuals within the nursery setting
  • Communicate using different methods
  • Listening skills
  • Understand children's needs

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. Catherine House Day Nursery will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day

If successful, you will complete:

  • EYE standard
  • Functional skills if required
