Detailed Job Description

  • Your duties as a Business Administrator Apprentice will include:
  • Office administration duties such as typing, filing, data entry, shredding, photocopying and laminating
  • Greeting clients, preparing the boardroom for meetings and tastings and general housekeeping duties
  • Preparing client proposal documents on Excel and preparing PowerPoint presentations
  • Updating the company database with information
  • Answering telephone calls and taking messages where required
  • Updating sales literature as necessary
  • Assisting with marketing mailings, sending brochures and letters as and when required
  • Providing the flexibility to assist several people with their workloads in all departments - Sales, Coordination, Finance, Catering and Marketing and events if required
  • Sales Support:
  • Working with and assisting members of the sales team on a daily basis, and attending meetings with them as and when required
  • Taking sales enquiries and dealing with them appropriately
  • Keeping sales administration systems up to date
  • Preparing proposals, taking part in idea generation and working on various group projects
  • Assisting with marketing activity - promotional events, mailings, database management, etc
  • Organising and monitoring guest lists at promotional events
  • Keeping the database up to date at all times with new/changed details/bookings
  • Processing booking forms and invoicing of all clients
  • Chasing outstanding payments from clients
  • Assisting with on-site management of events including on site organisation and client liaison

Requirements and Prospects

Qualifications required

Essential:

  • GCSE English and maths (or the equivalent)

Desirable:

  • A Levels
  • Driving Licence desirable but not essential

Skills required

  • Good knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, willingness to undertake training if required
  • Good administrative skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Confidence in a work environment
  • Good time management, the ability to work on their own initiative

  • A good telephone manner and confidence in talking to a range of people
