Detailed Job Description

NKD waxing is looking for someone to assist with reception and business administration in our busy Nottingham city-centre beauty salon. The right candidate will be mature and confident, friendly and outgoing, well-spoken, polite and well-presented, and have good writing and spelling skills. They will be able to approach situations sensitively where needed and be capable of adopting a more assertive stance where necessary. Reception duties involve booking clients into our computerised booking system by telephone, email and in person, taking prepayments over the telephone and administering cash and card payments. The business administration part of the job will involve supporting the salon manager, reception manager and office manager in their administrative duties.

Requirements and Prospects

Qualifications required

Basic Maths and English - GCSE grades A*-C or equivalent qualifications.

Skills required

Good IT and computer skills are a must from the outset, including proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. The right candidate will be well-organised with extremely high personal standards and fantastic attention to detail. As the glue that holds our organisation together, you will also be a great teamworker, able to get on with people from all walks of life. An interest in social media and marketing would be advantageous.

Possible progression onto level 3 apprenticeship if funding is available.

Training provided

You will be doing on the job training so no college days will be required.

You will be assigned an assessor to track your progress once a month. Successful candidate will gain a NVQ qualification in Customer service and functional skills in Math’s & English if applicable

The current National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.30 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
