Description

The yard has a vacancy for an apprentice to join their successful, friendly team. The candidate must have existing skills and experience as this role offers opportunity for the apprentice to develop their role and become a head girl/boy on the yard with long term job prospects.

Riding is not essential.

Assisting at National and International showsThe candidate must be confident dealing and handling performance horses, and keen and willing to learn.

Duties will include;

Mucking out

Tacking up and tack cleaning

Grooming

Bringing in and turning out

Feeding/hay nets/water

Riding

Clipping/plaiting/trimming

Experience with horses is essential
Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills maths and English
Full training provided through the Equine Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training

Successful candidate will be;

  • Willing to work outside in all weather
Possibility of Level 3 Horse Care Apprenticeship on completion of Level 2
Possibility to take own horse
