You will have the opportunity to work as a Finance and Admin Assistant within a school. You will receive comprehensive training throughout the apprenticeship and ongoing support from the school. The Business and Admin Apprentice will be based at Penryn Primary Academy to assist our Finance and Admin team, but there will also be the opportunity to visit other Aspire Academies to gain a broader knowledge and experience. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated apprentice who will be a role model for our children. The ideal candidate should be highly organised, with the ability to prioritise their work, be flexible and adaptable and calm under pressure. You should also be capable of demonstrating strong written, verbal and IT skills.

Roles and Responsibilities:

* To provide a professional and friendly welcome to everyone who visits the school

* To provide admin support to the school

* To assist children, parents and visitors to the school

* To assist the school in its day to day duties

* To contribute to the overall ethos, work and aims of the school Develop an understanding of policies and procedures, complying with their contents and raising concerns in a timely manner

* To recognise own strengths, areas of expertise and use these to advise and support others

* You will be involved in a range of activities in school including:

* Welcoming visitors to the school

* Assisting in producing the weekly newsletter

* Assisting in updating our website and social media

* Routine administration tasks

* Basic finance tasks, including producing simple spreadsheets

* Updating databases and records accurately

We are a large primary school catering for pupils from a wide range of social backgrounds from Penryn and the surrounding area. What is involved:

A one-day induction and 13 days at college. Typically up to three days college attendance for each Functional Skill (if required). The Diploma in Business Administration is achieved through building a portfolio, an exam and assignments. An assessor will visit the apprentice at work to support the apprentice and coach the development of skills at work.
