Description

Apprenticeship position for those aged 16-24.

General yard duties such as:

  • Mucking out
  • Feeding
  • Working horses
  • Lunging
  • Long-reining
  • Riding
  • Driving the quad
  • Turning out/bringing in
  • Putting horses on/off walker
  • Washing off
  • High standard of care
  • Travelling to competitions
  • Assisting the vet/farrier/dentist
  • Assisting with rehabilitation horses
  • Social media work
  • Advertising/marketing products the yard is involved with
  • Handling youngsters

Some previous experience with horses is essential. If you do not have the appropriate experience, you will not be put forward for this position.
Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills maths and English
Full training through the Equine Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training.
Hard working, keen, energetic, friendly, confident handling horses, good sense of humour, reliable, punctual.
Full time position on completion of diploma.
Accommodation available but must be able to drive. Space for your own horse.
