Description
So what is a Parts Advisor?
Firstly, Parts Advisors are busy people so you certainly won’t be bored. They interact with all of the other departments, Service, Sales and Customer Service. They are responsible for ensuring that day to day the Technicians in the workshop have all the necessary parts they need to complete the work on customer’s cars.
They are also responsible for keeping on top of the stock kept onsite which means constant checking of stock quantity and rotation and well as keeping accurate records.
Working in this team you will get to know lots of the different car parts; recognising a leaf spring from a coil spring and knowing their functions. You will then be able to identify them quickly and easily to enable smooth running in the department.
Communication is key, you’ll be on the phone, online and on the forecourt dealing with customers so you need to be ready to multitask. Talking and interacting with customers and understanding their needs, you’ll learn how to identify exactly what a customer’s requirements are and be able to communicate that back to the department.
Burrow’s Motor Company also run a busy online parts sales shop which you will need to involved with so your techie skills will be put to good use!
Aside from a positive ‘can do’ attitude all you need to apply is GCSE Maths and English, ideally at grade C or above but if not, don’t worry we can help you with that.
About the team - The new team member will be joining 6 others in the department so you’ll have lots of people to learn from. It’s a friendly team with some members like Nigel who have worked at the site for 32 years and some who have only joined in the last 6 months – you’ll become part of the Burrows family in no time. There are both monthly and weekly team incentives meaning there is plenty of opportunity to top up your pay.
Location - The garage is located is on Penistone Road in Sheffield (not far from Sheffield Wednesday’s football ground). A great location as there a plenty of places to spend your one-hour lunch break such as MacDonald’s down the road or Morrison’s for something healthier as well as many other cafes and shops.
