Description

There are opportunities to groom at competitions, take on wider responsibilities on the yard and get involved in working with the riders with the early stages of training horses on the ground.

Training and support provided throughout.

Primarily a non-riding role but if individuals are competent, then the role could also include hacking out the horses or possibly other riding work if appropriate.

General yard duties such as:

  • Mucking out
  • Putting the horses on the walker
  • Turning out horses in the field
  • Poo picking the smaller fields
  • Getting horses ready for the riders
  • Handling foals and youngsters
  • Feeding, haying, watering
  • Other work with the horses including lunging etc.
  • If not already able to clip, training can be provided.

Some previous experience with horses essential. If you do not have the relevant experience, we will not be able to put you forward for this role.
Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills maths and English

Full training through the Equine Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training.

Keen, hard working, willing to work outdoors in all types of weather.
Full time position on completion of diploma.
Well maintained fully furnished cottage available for accommodation, no space for pets or own horse.
