Description

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated, diligent and switched on candidate who really wants to learn to groom to the very highest standards, whilst gaining a nationally recognized qualification. You will work and train alongside our yard manager and with our Level 2 staff. We offer a great working environment with top quality horses.

You must have a real passion for working with event horses, be a people person, be self-motivated an enjoy working as a member of a team.

A full driving license is preferable.

The role involves all the usual yard duties plus competition grooming.

Candidates are required to have previous experience on a professional yard.

General yard duties such as:

  • Mucking out
  • Feeding/hay horses
  • Cleaning the yard
  • Cleaning tack
  • Tacking up horses
  • Turning out/bringing in horses
  • Grooming the horses

This is an apprenticeship position for those aged 16-23.

Some previous experience on a professional yard. If we feel you do not have the relevant experience, we will not be able to put you forward for this position.
Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills maths and English

Full training through the Equine Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training.

Hard working, keen, reliable, positive, friendly, fit, healthy, punctual

Possibility of Level 3 Horse Care Apprenticeship or full time position on completion of diploma.

Excellent accommodation, no space for own horse but possibility of riding depending on experience.
