Description

The yard is looking for an apprentice that has some previous experience for general grooming of top class horses. This is an amazing opportunity as she is also willing to help the right candidate with their dressage training.

General yard duties such as:

  • Mucking out
  • Turning out/bringing in
  • Grooming
  • Tack cleaning
  • Filling hay nets
  • Feeding
  • Bedding up and down
  • Handling fit competition horses and youngsters
  • Riding - hacking
  • Schooling - depending on experience
  • Lunging
  • Paddock and yard maintenance
  • Holding for vet/farrier/dentist
  • Grooming away at competitions
  • Tacking up

This is an apprenticeship position for those aged 16-23.

Some previous experience with horses is essential.

If you do not have the relevant experience, you will not be put forward for this role.

Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills maths and English
Full training through the Equine Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training.
Hard working, keen, friendly, happy to work outside in all weathers, calm and confident handling big fit horses.

Full time position on completion of diploma.

Live in position, with space to bring your own horse.
