Description

Small, friendly yard with 3 horses owned plus one full livery and 2 DIY. One horse schooled and brought on each year. Looking after horses with other help. Apprentice will be given responsibility and trained to manage a yard. Good outdoor school and cross county course over 180 acre dairy farm.

General yard duties will include;

  • Mucking out
  • Grooming
  • Tack cleaning
  • Tacking up
  • Exercising and schooling
  • Getting ready for hunting and shows
  • Opportunity to hunt and compete for right candidate

Experience with horses is essential. Please note that candidates with no experience will not be considered for this position.
Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills maths and English
Full training provided through the Equine Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training

Successful candidate will be;

  • 16-23 years old
  • Experienced riding and/or handling horses
  • Mature and responsible
  • Enthusiastic to progress within the equine industry
Possibility of Level 3 Horse Care Apprenticeship on completion of Level 2
Possibility of accommodation and to take own horse
