Detailed Job Description

General yard duties such as:

  • Mucking out
  • Turning out/bringing in
  • Clipping, pulling, trimming, plaiting
  • Grooming
  • Tacking up
  • General yard duties
  • Assisting with lessons in the riding school

This is an apprenticeship position for those aged 16-23.

Haddon Training will be in touch within 2-3 days for an initial telephone interview if you are eligible.

Requirements and Prospects

Qualifications required

Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills maths and English

Skills required

Some previous experience with horses is essential. If you do not have the relevant experience, we will not be able to put you forward for this position.

Personal Qualities

Keen, hard working, reliable, calm and confident around horses, punctual, friendly.

Future prospects

To become a permanent position for the right person on completion of diploma.

Training provided

Full training through the Equine Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training.

Not a live in position, and no space for own horse.
