Description

The 68 acre Farm is located on the side of a picturesque valley on the edge of the Derbyshire Peak District. The farm has been operating for 21 years and has a high quality shop, equestrian livery stables and a 1½ acre fishing lake with island and stocked with specimen fish.

Whether you would prefer a refreshing canter, a leisurely days fishing or purchase the Sunday roast, we will be able to help you and you family.

The employer is an international dressage rider looking for a competent and confident apprentice who is able to handle fit competition horses and stallions. We would be able to offer a Traineeship for those aged 16-18 providing you will be able to show a professional manner and able to use your own initiative. Some basic knowledge and experience is essential for this role.

Additional riding lesson will be provided on your own horse.

General yard duties such as:

  • Mucking out
  • Tacking up
  • Cleaning tack
  • Feeding Haying/watering
  • Exercising horses if competent rider
  • Lunging
  • Clipping
  • Grooming
  • Bathing

This is an apprenticeship position for those aged 16-23. Haddon Training will be in contact within 2-3 days for an initial telephone interview if you are eligible.

Previous experience with horses is essential. If you do not have the relevant experience we will not be able to put you forward for this position.
Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills maths and English
Full training through the Equine Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training.
Keen, punctual, hard working, friendly, reliable, calm and confident around horses.
Full time position on completion of diploma.
No accommodation but livery possible for your own horse
