Detailed Job Description

The apprentice would work 30 hours a week. Generally it would be Monday to Friday 9.00am-3.00pm, but these days and times may change according to the week’s work.

General yard duties such as:

  • Mucking out
  • Turning out/bringing in
  • Filling hay nets
  • Poo picking
  • Leading mares and foals

This is an apprenticeship position for those aged 16-23.

Haddon Training will be in touch within 2-3 days if you are eligible.

Requirements and Prospects

Qualifications required

Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills maths and English

Skills required

Some previous experience with horses is essential. If you do not have the relevant experience, we will not be able to put you forward for this position.

Personal Qualities

Hard working, keen, friendly, calm and confident handling horses, punctual, reliable.

Future prospects

Full time position on completion of diploma.

Additional Information

Training provided

Full training through the Equine Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training.

Accommodation available. There is no opportunity to have free livery but there are plenty of yards nearby.
