General yard duties such as:

  • Mucking out
  • Turning out/bringing in
  • Tack cleaning
  • Tacking up
  • Feeding
  • Filling hay nets
  • Clipping, pulling, plaiting, trimming
  • Bathing
  • Rug changing
  • Paddock maintenance
  • Schooling
  • Riding
  • First aid
  • Exercising horses from the ground
  • Holding for vet/farrier/dentist
  • Assisting with backing/breaking
  • Handling youngsters and fit competition horses

Previous experience with horses is essential. Anyone with no experience with horses, or non-riders, will not be considered for this position.
Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills maths and English
Full training through the Equine Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training.
Hard working, keen, reliable, punctual, calm and confident handling horses, happy and willing to work outside in all types of weather.

Full time position on completion of your diploma.

Not a live in position, and no space for own horse.
