A 399 seat theatre built within the shell of the original Corn Exchange Hall in Stamford, Lincolnshire. Refurbished almost entirely by volunteers, and run throughout the year by volunteers. The venue is available for seminars and corporate entertainment events for up to 399 people

Detailed Job Description

Your role is to support the Technician in preparing and running the technical and Stage management side of shows liaising with the Artistes and crew. Supporting the Manager in the Box Office selling tickets and completing administration tasks. The candidate must be aged 18 years (or older) as Bar support is also required in the Theatre Lounge helping with sales of Drinks and Food. This role will also involve supporting the various events that take place at the theatre.

The perfect candidate will have good communication skills and enjoy working with public on the front line. Must be flexible in working hours (evenings and week-ends are essential).

Requirements and Prospects

Qualifications required

GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths is essential

Skills required

  • Excellent communication skills and a professional telephone manner
  • organised and be able to work methodically and accurately
  • able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • be able to talk confidently to customers and work in a team
  • IT literate – use of the Microsoft office package to be an advantage
  • An interest in Sound & Lighting is essential

Future prospects

There may be the possibility of a full time position for the right candidate upon successful completion of the level 2 Apprenticeship in Customer Service.

This position is for 30 hours per week with varying days/times depending on the business needs. You will need to have a flexible approach to working time due to the nature of the role.
