Description

Role Highlights- Preparation of food items in compliance with standard recipes. - Maintain and record temperature control of food items throughout the holding, cooking and serving process. - Correct storage and rotation of all food items. - Report defects or maintenance faults to kitchen supervisory team. - Keep working areas and surfaces clean and tidy. - Methods of cooking and presentation are used to maintain the highest standards of production and service. - Follow health and safety policy and procedures and be aware of individual responsibilities under legislation. - Undertake personal development and/or refresher training as necessary to maintain up-to-date skills and knowledge - Maintain high standards of personal and general food hygiene and cleanliness within the kitchen and associated areas. Apprenticeship Highlights• You will gain a nationally recognised qualification in Kitchen Services at Level 2. As part of your Apprenticeship you will learn how to:• Full support with training and development will be provided to prepare the candidate for the next step in their culinary career. • The role of Apprentice Chef is to provide support to the kitchen team in food preparation and cooking for breakfast, a la carte, events and other services.• You will receive onsite training with an award winning training provider• Learn life skillsWhat are we looking for?• Somebody who is reliable and career driven• Somebody who can work under their own initiative• Somebody able to work different shiftsYou’re learning and Development will be supported by your own Vocational Learning Advisor who will guide you throughout your ApprenticeshipBabcock is an award winning training provider

Some kitchen experience to build upon would be preferable and you must be able to work closely in a team
None needed
You will work towards a transferable qualification with a award winning provider! This is an: Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Kitchen Services.
Must have a general interest in food. Good level of hygiene and cleanliness. You must be friendly, hard-working and happy to work as part of a team.
You will complete a level 2 apprenticeship in professional cookery. You pay could be reviewed depending on experience and how your skills progress. There may be an opportunity of a level 3 programme in the future when you have more experience.
