Description
Apprentice Chef to be trained in all aspects of cooking, This is an excellent opportunity to build a career in a great working environment and to be part of the charity Horder Healthcare which is passionate about developing young talent to be the best that they can be. Working as part of a hospitality team, to provide an excellent service to patients and hospital staff in the prestigious McIndoe Centre in East Grinstead. Training to include: •Breakfast & lunch service as well as evening meal sandwiches/light bites •Knife skills, preparation of veg & fruit •Preparing and finishing classic sauces & soups •Meat & fish preparation and cooking to include roasting, frying grilling etc •Some pastry work and desert making. •When complete will be able to work in all sections of the kitchen. As an Apprentice you will be included on a Professional Cookery NVQ level 2. Your Qualification will be delivered by an Award Winning Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Vocational Learning Advisor coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship.

A willingness to learn new skills in a variety of area, and good people skills are essential. We will be looking for someone who understands food and wants to expand their knowledge.
Mathematics & English GCSE A-C is desirable but not essential. Must complete Maths and English Functional Skills, to start the Apprenticeship.
ProfessionalCookery Level 2Apprentices will learn how to prepare and cook a large range of dishes whilst also demonstrating bothhigh food hygiene standards, knife techniques and the use of a range of other kitchen tools and theability to work safely and effectively within the kitchen team.
Must be enthusiastic and keen to learn, must be well presented, good communication skills and must be able to take instructions.
Ongoing training & development, this is an excellent opportunity to undertake a catering qualification with an Award Winning Learning Provider.This position could potentially lead to a permanent position and could be a job for life.
