Fantastic opportunity to join Massarella as an Apprentice! At Massarella Catering Group we know that employing great people and developing great teams are key factors to delivering great service. As part of your Apprenticeship you would be expected to carry out various duties to contribute to the smooth running of our business .You would be expected to carry out various duties which will include: Role Highlights• Preparing and cooking menu to a high standard as per company specification• Monitoring and sorting of stock • Be able to read recipes and be able to prepare & cook the dishes as specified in the recipe• Ensure no foodstuff is unnecessarily wasted• Comply with hygiene and health and safety standards• Have a high standard of work practise and hygiene• To make sure that the kitchen, restaurant and service areas are clean, tidy and well stocked and attractive during opening times, ensuring sufficient supply of crockery/cutlery. • To make sure food is prepared and served promptly and that you communicate effectively with chefs/cooks as to the customers’ requirements.•To make sure portion control, preparation and storage methods are consistent to avoid wastage costs.•To work within the wash up area including using the dish washer while maintaining health & safety standards by keeping equipment clean, stored correctly and available for use.•Be prepared to help out in the unit when necessary to support your team to cover holidays, absence etc.•To communicate with your manager when you see ways to improve work activities or reduce costs.•With adequate notice, be prepared to work additional hours or in other Massarella operations to meet the needs of the business.Support your manager by delivering parts of the Induction training to new starters, such as till training, merchandising, etc.Your training will be carried out with an Award Winning Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. Apprenticeship Highlights• You will gain a nationally recognised qualification in Food Preparation at Level 2. As part of your Apprenticeship you will learn how to:• Full support with training and development will be provided to prepare the candidate for the next step in their culinary career. • The role of Apprentice Chef is to provide support to the kitchen team in food preparation and cooking for breakfast, a la carte, events and other services.• You will receive onsite training with an award winning training provider• Learn life skillsWhat are we looking for?• Somebody who is reliable and career driven• Somebody who can work under their own initiative• Somebody able to work different shiftsYou’re learning and Development will be supported by your own Vocational Learning Advisor who will guide you throughout your ApprenticeshipBabcock is an award winning training provider

Must be practically orientated-“hands on”, able to demonstrates a positive approach to customer satisfaction, ability to work in a busy kitchen environment, able to demonstrate an awareness of hygiene and health and safety, effective Communication Skills, able to follow both verbal and written instructions, have good organisational Skills
Level 2 in Food Preparation at Level 2
Must have smart, clean appearance, must be fairly outgoing, enthusiastic and willing to learn, must be able to speak and understand basic spoken English, must be passionate and standards driven, have a commitment towards own personal development.
The candidate will serve a probationary three month period and upon successful completion of their apprenticeship may be considered for a more senior position with additional training opportunities
