Description

We are a training and competition yard set in 44 acres of pasture land near Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire, providing a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The land and its’ facilities are designed to meet all horses’ individual needs for their welfare and education.

All services offer a professional and specialised approach in order to achieve maximum performance and harmony. Only a happy horse can produce, deliver and perform to the maximum.

The yard has a vacancy for an apprentice to join their friendly team, previous knowledge is essential as there will be on occasion sole charge or working with just one other.

This position would be ideal for someone that has a passion for eventing and that is keen and willing to learn.

General duties to include;

  • Mucking out
  • Turning out/bringing in
  • Tack cleaning
  • Tacking up
  • Feeding
  • Filling hay nets
  • Clipping/pulling/plaiting/trimming
  • Bathing
  • Rug changing
  • Paddock maintenance
  • Schooling
  • Riding
  • First aid
  • Exercising horses from the ground (lunging, horse walker, long reining, pessoa training etc.)
  • Holding for vet/farrier/dentist

Previous experience working with horses and on a yard is necessary.
Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills maths and English
Full training through the Equine Apprenticeship supported by Haddon training.
Keen and hard working with a passion for eventing
Level 3/full time employment upon completion.
Accommodation available and own horse permitted.
