Description

Garden Cottage Nursery are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate individual to join the team as an Apprentice Nursery Assistant. The role involves working with all children aged 3 months - 5 years. You will be required to help supervise the children’s play, learning activities and meal times. You will be working as part of a team. The role requires caring for all children’s needs and assisting staff with the Early Years Foundation Stage requirements.Duties include:• Caring for children’s care needs. • Assisting with cleaning duties. • Planning and supervising activities• Helping children learn• Ensuring Children are in a safe environment.We are looking for someone who enjoys spending time with very young children and to be willing to learn all job duties and train to gain childcare qualifications.As an apprentice you will be included on a Children’s and Young Peoples Workforce Qualification, this will involve a Vocational Coach visiting you on a monthly basis observing you whilst you work.Award winning Vocational Training Provider.

Good communication skills, can use own initiative, willing to learn, willing to care for all children’s care needs. Must be willing to take direction from supervisor of childcare room. To be able to learn and take on board the Early Years Foundation Stage and put it into practice.
No specific qualifications required as full training is to be provided. However basic maths and English skills are desirable.
Aside from the practical experience gained, you will also work towards a nationally recognised qualification. This is a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce.
Good timekeeping, enthusiatic, happy, friendly, willing to work hard and learn new skills
Garden Cottage Nursery mayl support you and train you to achieve your Level 2 and Level 3 Childcare qualification. There is a possibility of full time employment at the end of your apprenticeship.
