Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, keen to learn apprentice to join our team, which is approx. 14 horses, yard management and another apprentice. We are a professional event yard with horses ranging from 3 year olds to 4*.

Our apprentice will be looking after these horses along with our experienced yard manager and other staff. All daily yard duties including, mucking out, grooming, tacking up, turning in and out, working horses from the ground.

If you have the appropriate riding skills some riding / exercising could be included. You will learn about the management and care of international event horses.

Some general duties will include:

  • Mucking out
  • Sweeping
  • Feeding
  • Handling horses
  • Turning in and out
  • Tacking up
  • General health care of the horse
  • Communicating with the rest of the team
  • Work horses from the ground

Experience is essential as you would be working with fit, valuable horses
