Description
This is a great opportunity to begin your career working in the active leisure sector. You will be expected to follow the below:• Responsible for ensuring health & safety throughout the leisure centre• Ensuring high standards of customer care• Convey any comments/concerns from customers back to your line manager• Be aware of normal operating procedures & work instructions to implement emergency action plans in accordance with leisure centre procedures • To set up and put away equipment • Ensuring tasks are completed promptly to aid the smooth running of the activity timetable • To undertake any cleaning and maintaining of equipment that may be required in line with manufacturer’s guidelines • To undertake public swimming pool supervision / lifeguarding to RLSS (NPLQ) standard in accordance with current operating practice(s). As an apprentice you will be included on an Operational Services Qualification, this will involve a Vocational Learning Advisor who will visit you on a regular basis throughout the 12 months, to deliver the training and coach you whilst you work. This will be delivered by an award-winning training provider.Be able to swim 25 metres minimum without stopping. This WILL be part of the interview.Clear communicator, sound organisational skills, possess the ability to react in a controlled manner to an emergency, have a positive approach to additional duties that may be required in a very busy and demanding public service environment.

Clear communicator, sound organisational skills, possess the ability to react in a controlled manner to an emergency, have a positive approach to additional duties that may be required in a very busy and demanding public service environment.
No qualifications required as full training will be required however current NPLQ or customer service qualification would be advantageous.
Intermediate diploma in Operational Services. As an apprentice you will be included on an Early Years Care Qualification, this will involve a Vocational Learning Advisor who will visit you on a regular basis throughout the 12 months, to deliver the training and coach you whilst you work. The qualification will be provided by the vocational training provider of the year.
Ability to follow instructions, understanding of high quality customer service, an active interest in sports.
After successful completion of the apprentice scheme there could be the opportunity to become part of our team, through casual, part time or full time employment subject to vacancies at end of scheme.
