The Gables Hotel places great emphasis on using the very best locally sourced ingredients to produce tasty and affordable dishes that everyone will enjoy in the restaurant and in the bar. We currently require an Apprentice Commis Chef to join our workforce. You will learn and develop your skills in different cooking techniques such as:• Boiling, poaching and steaming; • stewing and braising; • baking, roasting and grilling; • Deep frying and shallow frying; • Cold food preparation.Other duties will include;• Preparing and cooking dishes from our various menus; • produce good quality food;• Maintaining the cleanliness of your work station and kitchen;• Follow company and national health and safety procedures;Your development will be key and so you will be learning as you go as well as spending time out of the kitchen for training opportunities. Along with learning the skills you need, you will also learn how to deliver outstanding levels of food quality and how to maintain high standards of food safety.As an Apprentice you will be included on a Hospitality Qualification. Your Qualification will be delivered by an Award Winning Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Vocational Learning Advisor coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship.
