As an Apprentice Commis Chef reporting into the Head Chef, your role will be to support the Head Chef in ensuring the efficient and effective running of the Kitchen, whilst learning valuable skills to increase your own knowledge and competency.Roles and responsibilitiesTo ensure all food is served to the required company standard - duties will include preparation and cooking of fish, meat and poultry dishes and serving and garnishing to a high standard to meet the expectations of the clientele of this high profile group of hotels.To aid the Head Chef in implementing all new menus.To ensure that a high standard of cleanliness is maintained in the kitchen operation.To strive and anticipate customer needs wherever possible, and to react to these to enhance customer satisfaction. To maintain a professional working relationship with the food service team.To comply with all regulations as stated in the normal operating procedures.To use cleaning chemicals as directed, to achieve desired results and reduce wastage.
No formal qualifications required, however GCSEs A-C (including Maths and English) would be preferred.
Previous experience of the Hospitality sector for a high-end business would be highly advantageousExcellent attention to detailKnowledge of the hygiene standards required to work in a kitchenStrong multi-tasking skills

The successful candidate has the potential to become a full-time, permanent member of staff upon the completion of their Apprenticeship.
Alongside this role, you will work towards a Professional Cookery Level 2 Apprenticeship delivered by Interserve Learning & Employment.
