Description
A great opportunity has become available now at The Crown Inn ,Huntingdon to join the team as an Apprentice Chef, this is an exciting opportunity to start your career as a chef, As an Apprentice Chef you will work with the team to carry out the following:Prepping and cooking food throughout Service In a busy country pub.• Work under direction of the senior chefs undertaking instructions efficiently• Ensure consistent great food production, in line with the high quality standards.• Perform tasks within a timely manner.• Contribute to effective food cost control.• Prepare and present high quality dishes within company guidelines.• Keep all working areas clean and tidy and ensure no cross contamination.• Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships.• Report maintenance, hygiene and hazard issues.• Comply with restaurant security, fire regulations and all health and safety and food safety legislation.• Meet all health and hygiene requirements.• Some washing up duties will also be expected.Apprenticeship standards are aimed at developing skills within the Apprentices’ chosen career route, each standards has set knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be successful within the job role. As an Apprentice you will be included on a Cookery Qualification.Each Apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, face to face training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment. Once the apprentice has completed a minimum of 12 months training, this will include the completion of functional skills in Maths and English. They will be put through to end point assessment. The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role.
