There is an exciting restaurant development being launched early 2018 extending the restaurant more than doubling the covers, development opportunities to develop for all staff involved. Plans to open nutrition bar. Also it is a busy establishment for event with weddings and other events run throughout the year, preparing a range of freshly cooked fine dining and large events food.

Successful candidate will take on a range of kitchen duties : Preparing and cooking menu to a high standard as per company specification, Monitoring and sorting of stock, Be able to read recipes and be able to prepare & cook the dishes as specified in the recipe, Ensure no food is unnecessarily wasted, Comply with hygiene and health and safety standards, Have a high standard of work practise and hygieneApprenticeship Standards Highlights• You will gain a nationally recognised Level 2 Commis Chef qualification.• Full support with training and development will be provided to prepare the candidate for the next step in their Catering career.• You will receive onsite training with an award winning training provider• Learn life skillsWhat are we looking for?• Somebody who is reliable and career driven• Somebody who can work under their own initiativeEach Apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, face to face training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment. Once the apprentice has completed a minimum of 12 months training, this will include the completion of functional skills in Maths and English. They will be put through to end point assessment. The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role.
No specific qualifications needed as Babcock will help to support to fill the gaps.
Willingness to learn, to be able to take direction. An understanding that the hospitality industry runs 365 days a year and there will be early morning, late nights and weekend working.
Flexible, passion for food, team worker, but also able to work on their own under direction
From completing the Level 2 the candidate will be progressed through to level 3 with the prospect of becoming a full time team member within the kitchen once both qualifications are successfully completed. Employer paying NMW according to age
