Description

Main Responsibilities

  • To assist service users who need help with personal care, which could include getting up in the morning, dressing, undressing, washing, bathing and support in using toilet facilities.
  • To help service users with mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including incontinence and help in use and care of aids and personal equipment.
  • To help care for service users who are dying.
  • To help in the promotion of mental and physical activity of service users through talking to them, sharing with them activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreations.
  • To make and change beds, tidy rooms, do light cleaning duties and empty commodes.
  • To set tables and trays, serve meals, feed service users who need help, prepare light meals and wash up.
  • To read and write reports, and take part in staff and service users meetings and in training activities as directed.
  • To perform any other such duties as may reasonably be required.
  • To comply with the agencies guidelines and policies at all times.
  • To report to the agency manager any significant changes in the health or circumstances of a service user.

During the adult care worker apprenticeship, you will study an integrated programme of knowledge and skills, which are developed alongside core values and behaviours, expected of a competent care worker operating in this regulated field. Your on-programme learning will be supported by both the employer and a designated training advisor from Truro and Penwith College.

  • Work professionally and seek to develop your own professional development

On completion of the Apprenticeship, there may be a possibility of a full time job.
CRM charged to individuals. Uniform - Tunic and badge supplied. Suitable black trousers and shoes must be purchased and worn by the individual. All staff are expected to maintain confidentiality and data protection at all times. Shifts will be on a 2 week rota basis. You will work a mnimum of 30 hours per week.
