Description
Little Owls Pre-School (Plymouth) CIO are looking for an enthusiastic nursery apprentice who would love the opportunity to work with children while studying towards their Child Care Apprenticeship, To help the team provide stimulating and age-appropriate play and learning and development opportunities in the childcare setting as directed by staff. contribute to the planning of the curriculum using the EYFS and help the team follow the plans made by the Manager. To follow any staff rosters that set out daily duties but be prepared to use your initiative and be proactive when necessary. To be fully aware of operational policies and procedures and ensure policies are followed, implemented and monitored. To supervise the children to protect them from dangerous and harmful situations. To provide a high level of care that will enhance children’s general health and wellbeing. As an Apprentice you will be included on a Children’s and Young Person Workforce Qualification. Your Qualification will be delivered by an Award Winning Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Vocational Learning Advisor coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship.

This is an apprenticeship role so we are expecting the candidate to learn the skills required for the role.
English and Maths GCSE’S A-C would be desirable but not essential, must complete Maths and English Functional Skills to complete Apprenticeship.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for Early Years education. They will need to be able to show empathy and understanding of young children. They should also be able to converse with parents; providing updates on progress and daily
If the candidate successfully achieves their Level 3 training and any Maths/English qualification required and demonstrates their commitment to Little Owls then it is highly likely a position will be available. Little Owls currently has 2 sites - the St Budeaux site is experiencing rapid growth.
