Description

Situated in a lovely village, we acquired the Equestrian Centre in 2001. We have many years of experience in the equestrian field, and have been involved with horses for most of our lives, competing at international level on many occasions and also on the national circuit.

Over the past few years we have greatly improved the facilities, and continue to do so. We aim to provide events for all walks of the Equestrian field. The centre has two large and three smaller outdoor arenas, all post and rail fenced and an adjacent horse box park. One of the larger arenas has a Derby Bank and Dyke, and very successful Derby Shows have been enjoyed by many of the riders who had never been around such a course before. Indoors the centre provides two arenas, the larger one is overlooked by a cafeteria and eating area, with a seating gallery that enables visitors to relax and enjoy the events taking place in the arena.

We are a registered riding school and offer professional, but friendly tuition from beginners to advanced. We hold Unaffiliated Showjumping every Wednesday Night, BSPS and Ponies UK Shows, BSJA Shows, Riding Club and Dressage Competitions throughout the year. We also host Clinics, Dog Shows, Pony Club and Riding Club events. Many of the visitors to Barton remark on the warm and friendly atmosphere, even in the middle of winter!

General yard duties such as:

  • Mucking out
  • Feeding
  • Haying & watering
  • Grooming
  • Helping with lessons
  • Helping with events
  • Bringing in/turning out
  • Rug changing
  • Picking feet

Some experience with horses would be beneficial.
Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills maths and English
Full training provided through the equine apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training
Successful candidate will have a keen interest to succeed in the equine industry as well as an interest in competing.
Possibility of Level 3 Horse Care Apprenticeship on completion of Level 2
