Detailed Job Description

Vacancy description

  • Ensure Post Room and Stationary Store is well maintained in a clean and tidy condition.
  • To deliver to messages, communications and letters received during the course of the day.
  • To deal accurately with filing.
  • To use the photocopying equipment to achieve copies of the correct standard in line with the office and department’s requirements.
  • To correctly use the franking machine, recorded delivery labels and postage stamps on all outgoing post.
  • To correctly identify and differentiate between DX post and Royal Mail post.
  • To deliver post to the Post Office and other local addresses.
  • To deliver and collect post.To deal with all incoming and outgoing calls.
  • To ensure the confidentiality and security of all office and client’s documentation and other information.
  • To take instruction from your supervisor and office manager.
  • To issue stationary as and when required and to ensure that sufficient levels of stationary stocks are maintained.
  • To undertake any other duties on an ad-hoc basis.

Requirements and Prospects

Qualifications required

Grade A to C in Maths and English GCSE or equivalent

Skills required

  • Excellent telephone manner

  • Good communication skills
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills

Future prospects

Progression onto an apprenticeship in Business adminstration level 3
