Best Western Yew Lodge have an exciting opportunity for a Food and Beverage Apprentice to join their busy team. This role will entail working in our Marco’s Bar and Lounge serving cocktails, wines and all other beverages to the highest standards that are set. As well as serving on our function bars for events and weddings for up to 300 guests. Duties will include: * To welcome guests in a friendly and accommodating manner * To exceed guest expectations by serving food and drink in a professional, knowledgeable and accommodating manner * To learn and retain a comprehensive understanding of all menu items to ensure maximum benefit to the guest and the ability to work effectively * To willingly assist guests in the Bar areas – e.g. giving directions, making recommendations and generally anticipating their needs * To bring a positive attitude to teamwork, contributing to the smooth running of the bar and interacting productively with other departments * To maintain the standards and culture of the team by setting an example to new members of staff and assisting in their training when required Main responsibilities: * To report for duty, punctually, wearing the correct uniform adhering to company policy * To prepare the bar for service, following SOP procedures and as directed by the manager * To serve food and drink, to the highest standards * To record all sales accurately * To be responsible for payments and be able to account for these payments at the end of the shift * To ensure that a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained by following cleaning routines and through on-going diligence during the shift and in set up and clean down procedures. * To follow the company’s fire plan and health and safety policy * To carry out any other reasonable duty that may be requested by the manager in line with company procedures. Full training will be given as part of the work place induction process and you will be supervised whilst on shift. We are looking for the right person to train and develop to become part of our busy team. As an Apprentice you will be included on a Hospitality Team Member Qualification specialising in Food and Beverage Service. Your Qualification will be delivered by an Award Winning Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Vocational Learning Advisor coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship.

Passionate, Trustworthy, confident with money handling, Although full training will be given to the suitable candidate, previous experience in a similar role is desired but not essential. To represent the company’s high standards of personal presentation and behaviour at all times during a shift.
Previous Hospitality experience would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.
