The post-holder will provide a variety of help to clients in their own home dependant on their physical & emotional needs. You will undertake any responsible duties within the clients home which would normally be done by the client or competent relative.

Detailed Job Description

Day to day duties are as follows -

Carry out duties like cooking, cleaning, laundering & other general maintenance tasks.

To prompt washing, shaving, bathing & toilet needs.

Social duties - talking with the clients, shopping, dispensing medication, assisting with monies & payments.

Develops skills & understanding of the special needs of the clients who suffer from disabilities.

Maintains work records e.g. work sheets & receipts.

Liaises with family, neighbours & volunteers.

Attends training courses.

Requirements and Prospects

Qualifications required

Maths and English GCSE pass or equivalent

Skills required

  • Excellent communications skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Good understanding of English and Maths
  • Able to use own initiative

  • Understanding

Future prospects

On competion of the 12 month apprenticeship program, depending on performance, you may be offered a full time position at Elm Tree House.
