Detailed Job Description

As a Hospitality apprentice at Away Resorts, your daily tasks will include, but are not limited to:

    • Maintain high level and standards of health and hygiene within a controlled kitchen area
    • Preparing food for service
    • Displaying foods
    • Storing foods
    • Cleaning work stations
    • Maintain a professional and positive outlook in the kitchen
    • Clearing tables
    • Reporting accidents
    • Generally keeping all areas clean and hygienic
    • Stock control under supervision

Salary offered will be dependant on your age:

  • 16-18: £4.05 per hour
  • 18 to 20: £5.60 per hour
  • 21 to 24: £7.05 per hour
  • 25+: £7.50 per hour

The working week will be flexible shifts across 5 days per week; which could include weekends, and your shifts will start and finish at any time between 8:00am and 10:00pm.

Upon the successful completion of the level 2, you may be offered an opportunity to do a level 3 apprenticeship or become a full time seasonal member of the team.

Paragon Skills are one of the leading training providers in the country. We have the ENERGY & EXPERIENCE to give you the EDGE in kick starting your career. Our Personal Tutors will deliver outstanding teaching and learning to help ENERGISE you to complete your apprenticeship training and leave you confident to EXECUTE tasks to the highest standard.

You will complete a Hospitality Team Member Standard, you will be trained and mentored for the first 12 months of this apprenticeship and able to specialise in one of the following areas: Food & Beverage, Barista, Food Production, Conference & Events Operations, Concierge & Guest Services, Housekeeping, Reception or Reservations.

You will then complete an end point assessment which will include a multiple choice test, a practical observation, a business project/presentation & a professional discussion.

All training will be delivered in the work place with no requirement for day release to college. You will be mentored by experienced members of staff while developing your skills to a nationally recognised industry standard.

The Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW) is £3.70 per hour from the 1st April 2018. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training. PLEASE NOTE – candidates who meet the employer’s criteria will be put forward for interview as soon as possible, this means that the vacancy could be filled before the advertised closing date.
