This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who would like to begin their career in the care industry. As an apprentice, your duties include: Undertaking all duties in relation to the wellbeing of residents, by ensuring the delivery of the highest possible standards of care in a professional manner. Ensuring residents physical and emotional needs, comfort and dignity are met and maintained and provided appropriate supporting care, such as moving and handling.Providing personal care and attention to each resident, and to follow the activities of daily living in accordance with the plan of care. Providing the required assistance with all dietary needs to ensure that residents remain well-nourished and hydrated.Promoting residents welfare whilst working in partnership with their family and other professionals.Carrying out duties in line with company policies and equal opportunities, for example helping with social activities, escorting residents on outings, assisting at meal times and light domestic duties. You will be included on a Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship. This will involve a Regional Trainer who will visit you on a regular basis, to deliver the training and coach the Apprentice and will also be observing whilst you work. Excellent communication skills, communicating clearly and sensitively with vulnerable people and their families, able to build relationships, team player and able to multi-task.
No specific qualifications required, however basic English and Maths skills are desirable.
Level 2 Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship.Apprenticeship standards are aimed at developing skills within the Apprentices’ chosen career route, each standards has set knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be successful within the job role. This will include the completion of functional skills in Maths and English. Once the apprentice has completed a minimum of 12 months training and the employer and Babcock regional trainer confirm they have met all the requirements of the standard they will be put through to end point assessment. The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role. Each Apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, face to face training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment.
