This is an exciting opportunity to work as an Apprentice Chef at The Prince of Wales!Duties Include:Preparing and cooking menu to a high standard as per company specification,Monitoring and sorting of stock, Be able to read recipes and be able to prepare & cook the dishes as specified in the recipe,Ensure no food is unnecessarily wasted,Comply with hygiene and health and safety standards,Have a high standard of work practise and hygiene.Apprenticeship HighlightsYou will gain a nationally recognised Level 2 Hospitality Team Member apprenticeship specialising in Food Production.Full support with training and development will be provided to prepare the candidate for the next step in their Catering career.You will receive onsite training with an award winning training provider,Learn life skills.What are we looking for? Somebody who is reliable and career driven,Somebody who can work under their own initiative.Each Apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, face to face training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment. Once the apprentice has completed a minimum of 12 months training, this will include the completion of functional skills in Maths and English. They will be put through to end point assessment. The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role.

You must be able to work in a busy environment and take instruction. You must have a good basic knowledge of general hygiene and pay attention to the detail of a task.

You must have a general interest in food, cooking and where food comes from. The right candidate will be wanting to start a career as a chef and happy to take on hard work. Must be able to work with raw food produce.
There is a possibility of a permanent position upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
