Detailed Job Description

Location: the nearest station is Piccadilly Circus underground, London.

Responsibilities:

  1. Write coverage emails to their clients using the subscription service they have, reading all papers in the morning.
  2. Call journalists, arrange meetings to discuss your brands and their campaigns.
  3. Competitor analysis and how they are approaching their brands, create questionnaires to improve the process. Creative sessions, brainstorming and weekly reporting.
  4. Account Admin - Collating client reports, monitoring coverage, creating media lists, research and attending meetings.
  5. Media Liaison - Building up your little black book of journalist contacts, wining and dining them, pitching PR stories and products to them and above all securing coverage for your clients.
  6. Creative brainstorming - getting your creative juices flowing in brainstorm sessions and helping to come up with award-winning ideas.
  7. Programme Support - building timelines for campaigns, feeding into media strategies and activation plans.
  8. Writing - Honing your press release writing skills and building out content calendars for client’s social media channels

Culture - Diverse, very sociable, meritocratic environment, nurturing and there are constant activities. Upstairs bar, cheese and wine evenings, individuals have to be confident, outgoing, give a shit and be willing to get involved.

Hours are 9 am to 5:30 pm, Mon-Fri.

Requirements and Prospects

Qualifications required

Three A-Levels at grades A*-C (or 240 UCAS points) are preferred. Ideally, we are looking for recent school leavers and non-graduates for the role.

Skills required

Inquisitive, curious nature, ambitious and gives a damn, restlessly creative, eye for detail, finger on the pulse, curious mind.

Personal Qualities

Proactive with the ability to use initiative and to work autonomously., Diligent, Well-organised, A ‘can do’ attitude, Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Future prospects

A full-time opportunity may be available if the candidate excels in the role.

Training will be in a Business Administration Advanced Standard (fast-track).
