The job will entail learning all aspects of the vehicle repair process from stripping the vehicle, panel beating and fitting new weld on panels, going through the paint process and re fitting the vehicle.

Detailed Job Description

Although not extensive the post holder will be responsible for:


- Maintenance duties

- Keeping Business tidy

- General house keeping across the business

- Supporting workshop director

- Work with appropriate Technician as requested

- Attend training as advised

- Removal and safe storage of vehicle components, fluids and gases as directed by work order

- Removal and safe disposal of vehicle components and fluids as directed by work order

- Re-assemble vehicles after repair in a safe and competent manner paying focused attention to quality

- 4 wheel alignment as directed by work order

- Removal and safe disposal of welded damaged panels as directed by work order

- Re-alignment using jig and measuring equipment as directed by work order

- Replacement of all new panels, welded, bonded or bolted as directed by work paying attention to specified repair methods order

- Repair of damaged panels to include filler work ready for preparation for paint

- Preparation of repaired areas as directed by work order to include

- Prep of panels – flatting Masking of prepared area

- Application of primer

- Prep for top coat

- Application of sealer as required

- Mixing paint using computerised scales/mixing system

- Application of top coat to manufacturers specification

- Quality control of all repairs

WEEKLY WAGE will be dependent on your age and experience based on NMW.

Requirements and Prospects

Qualifications required

GCSE grade C (4) or above in maths and English or functional skills at level 1
