Description
Quay Fabrications (Lancaster) Ltd, are looking to recruit a Fabricating and Welding apprentice to join the team. The employer is looking for candidates who has previous engineering experience (ideally someone who has completed their 1st year of engineering at college). The position will be based in a fabrication workshop using a range of machine tools. Successful applicants will be working with a long-standing team who work to exacting standards. The core tasks will involve much of the following:
- Select and lay out materials to be cut or welded
- Follow instructions and drawings
- Use the most suitable welding method for the job
- Using measuring instruments and marking, cutting Sheet, box section, angle and various other materials
- Operate welding equipment
- Keep workplace tidy
- Use good health & safety practice
- Other duties as reasonably requested by management

- Please note that working week and wage will be discussed and agreed at interview.
- Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

GCSE English and Maths preferred, ideally Grades A-C or the equivalent (not Mandatory)
