Whilst undergoing your training you will work alongside our Fitters, as well as undertaking other occupational placements. You will learn how to develop a preventative maintenance system and carryout planned maintenance activities to ensure that our quarries or concrete/asphalt plants operate safely and reliably.
You will learn how to play a key ’hands on’ role in the planning and implementation of plant improvements. You will be trained to quickly fault find and respond to any unplanned plant shutdowns.
Some of your work will involve working with production colleagues on the telephone to understand issues and to provide advice, so your ability to communicate effectively is vital.
You will be required to be highly self-motivated and flexible in your approach.
You must have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above (or level 5 or above on the new grading scheme) including Maths, English and Science.
Previous use of IT systems would be advantageous.
Once a qualified fitter you will be in high demand across the aggregates industry.
