Becoming a hairdressing apprentice for a hair salon is one of the most common routes to becoming a qualified hairdresser. Generally hair apprenticeship jobs are full time and can last anything from between 1 and 3 years (depending on the contract you enter with your employer), the end of which time the apprentice should hopefully acquire themselves an NVQ level 2 in hairdressing, which you will need to become a stylist.
Calderdale College offers apprenticeships across West Yorkshire. From September 2015, they’ll also offer Traineeship Programmes. Covering a range of industries, including a specialism in Digital Marketing, they’ve worked with hundreds of businesses in the area, including big names like Manchester City FC and the Shay Stadium.
